MP PRESENTS AWARD TO HIGH FLYING SCHOOL
Clwyd West MP, David Jones, last Friday (11 December 2015) presented the NACE Cymru (National Association for Able Children in Education) Challenge Award for Excellence to Ysgol Pen y Bryn, Colwyn Bay.
The award, which has been won by only three schools in North Wales, recognises excellence in whole-school provision for more able and talented children.
David Jones MP said:
“I was delighted to present this award to Ysgol Pen y Bryn, which recognises its outstanding standards of education, particularly for children who are more able and are naturally talented.
“However, the award recognises that the ethos developed by the school works for the benefits of all its pupils.
“The award is very rarely given, and only to outstanding schools. The inspector’s assessment gave the school an absolutely outstanding appraisal.
“I was very pleased to be there on Friday, and am sure that the school will go from strength to strength.”
