MP MEETS WITH THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION

Posted on 31st March, 2017

Clwyd West MP, David Jones, recently met the Royal British Legion in the House of Commons to show his support for the charity’s work, speak to the Legion’s staff and volunteers, and discuss the issues facing the Armed Forces in Wales.

Last year in Wales, the Legion provided over £500,000 in grants to support members of the Armed Forces community, engaged with almost 6,500 people through community outreach, and completed 2,350 jobs across Wales, helping people in their own homes to live independently.

David Jones said:

“Members of the Armed Forces community make huge sacrifices in the service of our country, and I am proud to support the work of the Legion in honouring the memory of the fallen and building a better future for the living. I enjoyed meeting beneficiaries and staff from The Royal British Legion and learning more about the work being done in my local area.”

Antony Metcalfe, the Royal British Legion’s area manager for Wales, said:

“I was delighted to see David Jones MP and we were grateful that he took the time to drop in.”
