JONES TO LEAD WELSH BREXIT CAMPAIGN

Westminster, 10 May 2016

Vote Leave, the designated lead organisation for the ‘Leave’ campaign in the forthcoming EU Referendum has announced that David Jones, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Clwyd West, has been appointed to lead the campaign in Wales.

Former Secretary of State for Wales, David Jones, is a well known figure on the Welsh political scene. He has been campaigning hard for “Brexit” over the past few months and will continue to lead a campaign that includes other Welsh members of Parliament and Assembly Members.

David Jones said:

“I have no doubt that there is a real appetite in Wales for the United Kingdom to leave the European Union.

“Recent polls, in fact, have shown that Wales is even keener for a ‘Leave’ vote than many other parts of the country.

“With just over six weeks left to campaign, my colleagues and I will be taking the ‘Leave’ message to every corner of Wales.

“Wales, and the rest of the United Kingdom, can look forward to a more prosperous, more outward-looking future, outside the European Union. This is an exciting moment for all Welsh people.”
