Refugees (Family Reunion) Bill | March 2018

I have received numerous letters regarding the Refugees (Family Reunion) Bill.
The Government’s refugee family reunion policy already allows for immediate family members of a person with refugee leave or humanitarian protection status to reunite with them in the UK. There are no plans to widen the criteria for reuniting individuals, especially as, in addition to the scheme, there are three discretionary resettlement schemes in place for recognised refugees for whom resettlement is the most appropriate answer.
These schemes are operated in partnership with the UNHCR and enable thousands of people each year to be reunited and resettled with their families in the UK.
