MP CONCERNED AT NATWEST BRANCH CLOSURE

Posted on 4th June, 2015

Clwyd West MP, David Jones, has expressed his grave concern at the decision by National Westminster Bank to close its Abergele branch on 23 September 2015 and the Rhos on Sea branch on 10 September 2015. The bank has blamed the decision upon reduced demand for the use of the branches.

David Jones MP said:

“I am very concerned indeed at the bank’s decision. Abergele is an important town with a large hinterland. Customers from a wide area travel to the town for their everyday shopping and financial needs.

“Rhos on Sea is a large village with a large proportion of elderly people. Depriving them of banking facilities will be a significant blow to them.

“I have written to the bank expressing my concern at the decision and requesting a meeting to discuss further.”
