UPDATE: Welsh business rates

Posted on 18th March, 2020

The Welsh Government has announced that shops, leisure and hospitality businesses with a rateable value of £51,000 or less will receive 100 per cent business rate relief. Pubs with a rateable value of between £51,000 and £100,000 will receive a £5,000 reduction on their bill.

The announcement follows a £475 million boost in funding provided by the UK Government to the Welsh Government. This is on top of the £360 million made available at last week’s budget.

The Chancellor has announced a further significant package of measures to help business and the economy, with more announcements expected over the coming days and weeks.
