I have received a significant number of letters regarding road safety and the campaign for a universal duty in the Highway Code for vehicles to give way.

You will be pleased to hear that the number of cyclists killed on our roads fell to its lowest level on record in 2015. However, we can never be complacent.

I have written to the Secretary of State for Transport, the Rt Hon Chris Grayling MP, enclosing my constituent’s correspondence and I will update this page once I receive a substantive response.
