CHAMPION ACCOLADE FOR CLWYD WEST MP

Posted on 2nd Gorffennaf, 2015

Clwyd West MP, David Jones, has been appointed a Save the Children Parliamentary Champion.

The prestigious accolade has been awarded in recognition of David’s efforts to raise awareness of the plight of refugees fleeing the fighting in Syria, with particular emphasis on the situation facing Syrian children and families.

David Jones said:

“I am honoured to have been appointed a Save the Children Parliamentary Champion.

“Save the Children’s efforts to help the world’s poorest and most vulnerable children are invaluable, and there are few people in the world who have greater need of such support than Syria’s refugees. My visit to the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan late last year left me in no doubt as to how dreadful the situation in Syria has been for the past few years, and how much suffering has been inflicted upon Syria’s people.

“I will continue to seek to raise awareness of the situation in Syria, and of the plight of Syrian refugees. I look forward to being able to support Save the Children’s endeavours in the region.”
